Was trying to hang on to this one, but just can’t keep them all.
Owned for almost three years now, I have done all necessary mechanical… and the engine…. well, I’ve owned 14 V12 Jaguars, but this is the only “Series 2” ( pre “HE” ) engine. Now that I’ve experienced this, I will own ONLY pre HE V12’s ! !
Runs as brand new, with a few miles, so it revs quicker. Truly remarkable. A couple minor oil drips, but nothing of concern.
Body is incredibly solid. Paint is at least 25 years old ( original colour ). Previous owner had replaced an area of both front floor pans, with parts from a donor car… so they’re correct. VERY minor rust at rear, where roll pan meets the spare tire well. Other than that, no rust underside at all.
Seats have a few areas where the stitching is pulling apart, but still soft and comfortable.
Car is fast ( faster than the 80 and newer V12’s ), and of course as expected, Jaguar smooth. Driven daily over the past few summers… car has proven to be totally reliable.
Also, have a set of “as new” original aluminum wheels, if preferred.
