This SL600 has come from dry climates which explained the lack of rust or corrosion as near show condition. I have driven it about 20,000 and it has been garages the whole time. Oil has been recently changed. It was just given an inspection at the Mercedes Dealer and a brake switch was installed. No mechanical defects were noted. The hydraulic rams for the top have been rebuilt so the top functions as it should. It comes with a matching hard top and stand. The convertible top is nearly new as well as a new hood pad over the engine. The photos do not do the car justice as the red paint really pops inn the sunshine. Two minute paints chips are pointed out in the photos. The front air dam has some rock chips as shown and should be an easy touch up. No curb rash on any of the chrome wheels seen on very few of these cars and new Michelin 245/45/ZR17’s about 400 miles ago which carry a 40,000 warranty from Costco.
The SL600 has a 6.0 liter, dual overhead cam (48 valve) 12 cylinder that runs so smooth you’ll need to check the tachometer to see if it is running. It has a solid 389 HP @ 5200 rpm from the factory along with 421 foot pounds of torque @ only3800 rpm that really gets this car moving. I have it on good authority that this car can go well over 185mph and still handle like you’re going 40. It’s curb weight is 4473 pounds so the ride is very smooth like you would expect from a car that had a factory sticker well over $120,000. Also the 5 speed overdrive is also so smooth you will seldom know when it is shifting. No coffee spills here.
The interior is the beige genuine leather showing only gentle use as do the door panels and matching carpet. The liner in the convertible show to be near new as well. Every detail of the dash and instruments look very good with a tachometer, 160mph speedometer and both coolant and engine temperature controls, mpg gage, clock, and fuel level indicator. The power windows run smoothly and the side view mirrors adjust as they should. The automatic heat adjustments provide interior heat quickly and the Air Conditioning blows real cold.
This car was delivered with every option available except the AMG package and some the package didn’t include like the speed activated leveling system. The dash and Burl Wood trim has no cracks at all. It has the factory Bose music system with built in sub-woofer and 6 disc changer, dual heated seats with electric adjustments, automatic roll bar and wind screen and rare factory automatic leveling and high speed adjustments as shown in the photos. It has both key fobs and the original owners manual. I know of nothing that does not function properly and when you pick it up you will see that it has been described accurately.
This car drives and looks as good as any with far less miles on it so don’t let the miles scare you at all.
